Eddie Hearn Warns of Lawsuits Against Chris Eubank Jr Following ‘Sabotage’ Claims

Promoter Hearn has vowed to pursue litigation against Eubank Jr, following the boxer accused his rival’s camp of using dirty tricks and attempted sabotage ahead of their highly anticipated second bout.

Eubank Jr’s Allegations

Eubank Jr, who won their first encounter by clear judges’ verdict, claimed that an ambulance taking him to hospital post-fight was intentionally blocked for 20 minutes.

“Every effort was made in an attempt to destroy me during the previous bout,” Eubank Jr declared. “Violations of agreement, financial penalties, rehydration clauses, a sabotaged weigh-in, one-sided broadcast remarks and refereeing. Their actions continues.”

He further added that his team were prevented from accessing the venue and that security personnel attempted to slow down his arrival on purpose.

Promoter’s Rebuttal

Eddie Hearn dismissed the allegations as “waffle” and warned legal consequences unless the boxer retracts his statements.

“He is unaware is that we possess official records on fight night, it’s there documented clearly,” Hearn emphasized.

He continued, “We expect an apology, or we’ll be taking legal steps. I take this very seriously. Our reputation is impeccable.”

Backstory of the Rivalry

This conflict between both fighters originates in a decades-old family rivalry starting in the late 1980s when their parents, Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn, faced off in a pair of epic matches.

Remembering a Boxing Legend

At the media event, Benn honored to late boxer Hatton, after being discovered deceased at his home at the age of 46.

“He was somebody that greatly supported me professionally but also a person that took me in as a mentor,” the boxer shared. “I felt at home during times without stability. His influence everything to me.”

Looking Ahead to the Rematch

The rematch, marketed under “Unfinished Business,” will take place come 15 November at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The veteran fighter has enlisted new trainer BoMac in his corner, whereas Benn vowed to return in better version than before.

The trainer commented, “I believe this will be a little bit easier this time. He already figured him out.”

The younger fighter retorted using a dismissive comment: “I’m flattered that he hired an additional coach , since he realizes you’re going to require the help.”
