New England matched their top unbeaten stretch from the Tom Brady era as they beat AFC East opponents the Jets 27-14 in professional football

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson led the way with three TDs as the New England squad secured an eighth consecutive victory for the first time since iconic QB Brady's last year with the franchise in the 2019 season

Signal-caller Maye accumulated 281 passing yards and a TD, completing 25 passes from 34 throws

The win increases the Patriots advantage at the summit of the AFC East as they moved to nine victories against two losses, with the New York bottom after slipping to two victories and eight defeats

The opposing team had taken the lead at their home field with quarterback Fields scoring a five-yard touchdown to conclude the Jets' first possession

But the home team answered in the second quarter as Henderson ran in two short rushing scores before the running back hauled in a throw from Drake Maye at the rear of the end zone in the middle of the third quarter to push the score to 21-7

"It was a key occasion for him stepping up, and it's been fantastic for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback said of the rookie. "He wants to be outstanding."

Justin Fields found John Metchie toward the end of the third period to reduce the lead for the Jets but Borregales booted a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter as the home side sealed the victory
