Previous British Broadcasting Corporation Advisers Participate in MPs' Grilling After Claims of Partiality in Leaked Memo
We open with questions from Conservative lawmaker the panel's head, that leads the committee.
She opens by giving background to the unauthorized document prepared by Michael Prescott and released in a daily publication.
"I don't want the British Broadcasting Corporation leaning this way or that way, I just want it balanced, unbiased and just," he declares.
In response to a query whether he considers the British Broadcasting Corporation is institutionally biased, the adviser responds: "No, I do not. To be clear, a great deal the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is exceptional - both factual and fictional shows."
But he adds: "There remains substantial tasks that needs to be done at the BBC."
A further previous consultant British Broadcasting Corporation specialist examined by the committee, Caroline Daniel, states she takes the British Broadcasting Corporation extremely earnestly and that it operates a "continuous process and vigorous discourse" on fluid and multifaceted topics.
"Was the BBC ready to conduct a proper conversation and exchange and take action?" she asks herself. "As I see it, indeed, they were."
