Ongoing Financial Struggles

A lead administrator, Kris Wigfield from the insolvency firm stated: “Similar to other teams, the club sustained heavy losses for several years, with those losses historically funded by the former owner Mr Chansiri. Because of mounting money troubles, the owner opted for administration allowing us to sell the club and ground as a whole, which is great news for supporters.”

Government Reaction

Government official Lisa Nandy commented on the situation served as another reminder the importance of a football regulator, recently legislated. The regulator is expected to be in operation by the 2027-28 campaign.
