The former president's Granddaughter Seeks Expert Tips from Golf Legend Woods Before LPGA First Appearance

Young golfer getting ready for significant competition

The rising star maintains considerable social media audience

The young golfer will have plenty of high-profile supporters as she begins her LPGA debut later this week.

The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to Donald Trump, was granted a tournament invitation to compete at the Annika tournament in Florida.

Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, owns several international courses and regularly competes against Kai.

"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we play some close matches," she mentioned.

The golfer shared that her grandfather, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."

"My grandpa essentially told me to go out there and enjoy myself," she added.

"From my perspective, he's just an ordinary family member. He won't be there for the tournament. He's busy with presidential duties, so he's rather occupied."

As an amateur, the golfer has competed in only three events recently and has ranking 461 in AJGA listings.

Yet she can get advice from golf legend, who is dating Kai's mother.

"He is the top athlete globally," the young golfer said.

"Additionally, he's a more impressive person. He told me to play, relax, following whatever happens."

The golfer will compete against multiple most prominent players in the sport at the Annika, such as second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.

The LPGA mentioned that Kai's presence brings golf to new audiences, particularly among younger fans.

Kai maintains millions of followers and just introduced an exclusive apparel and wellness brand.

She begins at 17:30 GMT.
