Three Lions Team Selection Announced: Bellingham and Phil Left Out, Saka Returns
The England manager has chosen to retain the identical England squad that secured victory against Andorra and delivered an impressive display in Serbia last month, finding no place for the Real Madrid star and Phil Foden in his group for the forthcoming exhibition match against Wales and the World Cup qualifier in Latvia.
Although Phil Foden pushing for a return to the squad after regaining his top condition at his club, and Jude Bellingham having returned for Real Madrid following a surgical procedure, the head coach has decided against including two of the country's most prominent offensive stars. The young midfielder has been in the starting lineup just a single time for his team since his return.
Tuchel has made room for the Arsenal winger, who is back to fitness and has been restored in place of his injured club colleague Noni Madueke. Jack Grealish has not been handed a recall.

Tuchel expressed his admiration for the vibrancy in the previous selection and seems intent on keeping the same atmosphere. The Newcastle defender, who featured at left-back in the convincing victory in Serbia, has been ruled out due to a knee injury. Tuchel has opted against selecting a direct replacement for the Magpies star but has included John Stones, who had to pull out previously. Tuchel has spoken about the centre-back's significance for England and has floated the idea of using him in midfield.
No spot has been found for the midfielder, who was selected last month but withdrew due to injury and was replaced by the Milan player.
Tuchel said: “It was only three weeks after the previous gathering and the most recent victory, the latest display, so the question was why not bring the same group in because they established a benchmark. The focus now is on creating habits out of it. We have regrettably a couple of fitness issues at the moment with Livramento and Noni and we welcome of course Bukayo Saka in to take the place of Noni. The defender was a late call-up last time; he will remain with the squad.”
